Remaliah King

Remi King is a proud Aboriginal woman raised on Gumbaynggirr country, with family ties to Wanamura in Northern Queensland.

From studies in Clinical Science (Medicine) from the University of New South Wales, Remi has a broad background in Medicine including research experience with The Kirby Institute (Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program). Developing a keen interest in Public Health and Community sector, she has worked in roles at an Aboriginal Medical Service and volunteered with community street kitchen programs. Prior to her engagement with Gayaa Dhuwi, Remi worked as an Aboriginal Women’s Domestic Violence Case Worker with Beryl Women Inc.

Remi is excited to bring her experience from frontline roles in the community sector and her medical/research background to the Policy Officer role within the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Policy Partnership.
